Barbican

arrow Overview

The Kingsley Barbican is a single channel fixed bias class AB hand wired tube amplifier, inspired by classic American designs. There are two basic model types: the blackface style (Barbican BF) and the Dumble-style (Barbican D). Housed in a cage style chassis, these amplifiers are portable and simple to operate. Their primary function is the production of great clean tones.
There are two wattages available: the 20W, using two 6V6 tubes in the output section and the 40W, using two 6L6s.While the Barbican D is solid state rectified for a faster attack and less output sag, the Barbican BF uses a tube rectifier for a little more give and comoression in the power amplifier.
Both models use a single 12ax7 for the preamp. The Barbican D-style uses a 12ax7 for the phase inverter, while the Barbican BF usues a 12at7.
